8.    Pouinabrone Dolman  The Burren 

       This dolmen is among the most famous landmarks in the Burren.  The remarkable image of the
       sun setting through the Dolmen is one of those most commonly associated with the area.

9.    Quin Abbey   Quin Village

        Quin Abbey was founded by the Mc Namaras in the 14th Century.  The cloisters were built in                1402 and remain one of the prominent features of the abbey.

10.   Scattery Island   Kilrush

        Scattery Island has been an ecclesiastical centre since early times.  A monastery reputedly                      founded there by St Senan in the sixth century suffered under the Vikings in the ninth and tenth
        centuries and was largely destroyed in Tudor times.

         A favourite of local people, the nature reserve contains a rich array of flora and fauna as well as
