Proleek Dolmen - Ballymsacanlon, Ireland

The Proleek Tomb is about 3 metres high and has a huge capstone weighing approximately 35 tons.  Local legend believes that if you can throw a coin and make it land on top of the dolmen, you will be granted a wish so why not try your luck!  The dolmen can be accessed from the car- park of the Ballymascanlon House Hotel just outside Dundalk. Open :   All year during daylight hours hours. Admission:   Free of charge.

Highlanes Gallery - Co Louth, Ireland

The gallery is sited in the former Drogheda Franciscan Church and part of the Friary, known locally as the 'High Lane Church'.  The buildings date from the early 19th century, and include the former Franciscan burial crypts.  The main exhibition spaces are open plan and include the old Church level and a new floor at the height of the old balcony.
