Steinbruckstrabe - Bad Sackingen, DE
The street owes its name to te stone bridge that used to connect the Old Town on the Rhine island with the suburb until the 19th century. The right branch of the Rhine was filled with concrete in 1830 and new buildings were constructed pon islan position. The department store and the Sprkasse were built on the former marksmen area during the first restoration phaseat the end of the 1070's. The only living witness of that period is " Schutzenlinde" (marksmen linden - tree). The actual renewal, the paving and the arrangement of the "Stadtbachle" took place on the occassion of the Baden - Wurttemberg heritage days in 1977. The numerous fountains and the Stadbachle show that the element water plays an important role in the whole area.
