EKTA  is centrally located near the market square. Its permanent exhibition is devoted to past and present life in Tammisaari, now supplemented by an exhibition on the life and art of Helene Schjerfbeck. This open-air museum is in the village of  Snappertuna, 15 km east of Tammisaari near the ruins of Raasepori Castle.  it presents the life of an archipelago farm in the mid-19th century. The oldest parts odf the main building date from the 18th century. A beautiful forest 'love path' leads from the musweum to the castle ruins, which lie some 500 metres away. The basic exhibitions at the craftsmen's cottages of Taaborinvuori look at everyday life in early 20th century Nurmijarvi. The exhibits showcase the heavy chores of a family smallholding and the wedding preparations of a young bride, among other things.
