Point Pinos Lighthouse - Monterey, USA
Point Pinos Lighthouse is another Pacific Grove landmark not to be missed. Built in 1855, it is the oldest continuously operating lighthouse on the West Coast. Its kitchen and parlor and bedrooms are furnished with period antiques and weekend self-guided tours tell about the lighthouse's automated signal which still aids fogbound ships. Pacific Grove is also known for its beautiful Victorian homes, many of which have been converted to bed-and-breakfast inns. These are open to the public during December 's "Christmas at the Inns" showcasing seven elaborately decorated inns. Golfers will enjoy trying their swing at the Pacific Grove Municipal Golf Course, one of the best golf values on the Monterey Peninsula. This beautiful, Par 17 course is open to the public.
