About Turkey


The birthplace of several great civilizations throughout the history, Istanbul is where the breathtaking
beauty of the Bosphorus connects Asia with Europe. The city is the economic and touristic capital of Turkey, a place where history comes alive. Kutahya is a city founded during the days of the Roman Empire which continued to thrive throughout the ottoman era.  Many civilizations have made the city their own, and remnants of these great people
can be seen throughout the landscape.  The city is especially famous for its beautiful handmade ceramics, health tourism and amazing thermal springs.


Also known as the pearl of the Aegean, Izmir is one of the largest and most famous cities in Turkey.
From its ancient Greek history to its bustling nightlife today.   Izmir is one of the country's most attractive destinations, packed with places of both natural and historical beauty.  Some of the most
popular are the Clock Tower,the Agora, Kadifekale, Asansor and Urla'


Bodrum is a place where the blue sky and sea meet the lush green of the landscape and the pure
white of local architecture, creating a perfect harmony: a Turkish paradise that never sleeps. With its many beautiful beaches, historical sites, restaurants and entertainment venues, you'll never be bored in Bodrum.  The most significant spots include Pedasa Antique City, the Bodrum Amphitheatre,the
Mausoleum of Halicarnassus and the Myndus Gate.


A famous Mediterranean city, Antalya is Turkey's biggest international resort. Located on the Turkish Riviera in 2011, Antalya had more international arrivals than any other city in the world.  With its kilometers of beaches, calm blue sea and warm climate, Antalya is fast becoming one of Turkey's most popular holiday destinations.


Rumi, the famous Sufi mystic, poet and thinker, wrote "Come, come whoever you are..." to this place rich in meaning and beauty.  Famous not just in Turkey but globally for its Seb-i Arus ceremonioes, Konya's Anatolian spirit shows generous hospitality to all its guests. Steeped in history, there are several spots worth visiting, including the Mevlana Museum, the Aziziye Mosque, the Ince Minare
Museum and the local Sahib-i Ata Mosque.  The city is also famous for its unique and diverse local cuisine.


For many centuries this city has been one of Turkey's most important trade and tourist centres, famous for its bazaars and its traditional cooking culture.  In fact, many people visit Gaziantep
just to sample its culinary delights.  The most famous places worth seeing are the Gaziantep Museum of Archaeology, the Gaziantep War Museum, Zeugma, Zincirli Bedesten and Gaziantep Castle.


Mardin, in the south east of Turkey, is the region's most popular historic destination., a city where people of many religions live in peace.  The religious harmony of the city stems from the time when the first civilizations made it their home, and today you will find monasteries, churches, mosques, and madrassas.  The Old City is especially famous for its Artuqid architecture. Amongst its many
famous landmarks, like the Deyrulzafaran Monastery the Dara Mesopotamia Ruins,the Great Mosque
of Mardin, Zinciriye Madrassa and the Virgin Mary Church, are popular examples of this style.


Located in the historic region of Cappadocia, it is worth visiting this magical city for its carpet weaving, underground shelters, fairy chimneys, monasteries, caravanserais, the famous rock-hen
churches of Goreme and the spectacular views of the city from a hot air balloon high above.


Trabzon is Turkey's most populous Black Sea city and also one of the largest in the country.  Part of the green heart of Turkey, with its vast and unspoilt landscape, Trabzon is located on the Silk Road
and played a crucial part in trade during the Ottoman Empire.  There are many historic sites that continue to inspire awe in visitors to the city, such as the Sumela Monastery, Zagnos valley, the Hagia
Sophia city, such as the Sumela Monastery, Zagnos valley, the Hagia Sophia Church and Uzungol. In
addition to its wonderful nature, Trabzon is also famous for its delicious tea and incredible local food based around anchovies and corn.
