Cathedral Notre Dame - Boulogne - France
The medieval cathedral was built after a small wooden boat carrying a statue of the Virgin Mary "miraclously" sailed into port one day between the years 633 and 636. The crypt is still visible today. Abbe Benoit Haffrenique ( 1785-1871) wanted to restore the cult of Notre Dame and order the construction of a new church, which began with the rotunda in 1827. In 1852, he needed to add a cupola similar to that on St. Paul's in London.
