This grape originates from the Bordeaux region of France. Its wines are usually consumed young, as they do not particularly benefit from aging. Sauvignon Blanc wines typical characteristics are those of grass, bell-peppers and grapefruit. Goes best with salads, vegetables and fish.

Chardonnay is a grape behind great wines such as Chabis and other white Burgundy. The characteristics of the wines produced by this grape vary considerably, and many of their aromas and flavours are due to oak aging rather then the grape variety . These include butter, vanilla, spice and tropical fruits. Goes best with poultry and cream- based sauces.

Riders at Sea An Arcal production. A short one-act opera based on the play by the Irish author John Millington Synge, it is generally regarded as Ralph Vaughan William's most successful opera.
