Cannonau - Sardegna, Italy

The Cannonau grapes in this Cru are produced near the towns of Maristella and Guardia Grande. Its calcareous soil is rich in sand and ferrous clays, thus enabling the grapes to ripen in the best way possible.

After careful vinification the wine matures in Allier Barriques and is finished in the bottle, where it slowly acquires all the fine characteristics that makes it so famous.

Colour:  Ruby red, slightly tending toward garnet red.

Bouquet:  Strong, characteristic, persistent to the right extent, with clear suggestions of fine wood.

Flavour:  Very fine and persistent, warm, soft, dominated by suggestions of fine wood that are                             excellently balanced with the unmistakable taste of Cannonau

Serving Suggestions:  Hearty first courses, roasts of red meat and wild game.

Serving Temperature:  18' - 20' C

Alcoholic Content:  13% - 13.5% vol

Akenta Wine of Sardegna, Italy

A careful selection of grapes Vermentino di Sardegna DOC, carefully hand-picked and converted to sparkling wine in an autoclave according to the Charmat method, and aged for six months on the yeasts. Through this process the yeast enhances fragrant aromas and allows the formation of a fine and persistent perlage.

Colour:  Pale straw-yellow with hints of green. The perlage is fine and persistent.

Bouquet:  Intense, fruity yet reminiscent of fresh yellow and white flowers with a light suggestion of
                 crusty bread.

Flavour:  Well balanced and structured, fresh and smooth with a pleasant flavour.

Serving Suggestions: This wine is ideal as an aperitif and with the whole meal of fish, shellfish and
                                    seafood dishes

Serving Temperature:  6 to 7 ' C

Alcoholic Content:  12.5% - 13% vol

The Green Man - Cambridge, UK

On a crisp autumnal night with winter looming, I can think of nothing I would enjoy than escaping the bracing cold by slipping into the inviting warmth of an English pub.  The Green Man offers just the solution, with a fine selection of local cask ales, a thoughtfully selected wine list and a diverse food menu.
The 15th-  Century food timbered hall house has a spacious interior with a sizeable bar and restaurant area, but it's still possible to tuck yourself away for a quiet drink in a hidden corner.

We were seated near the log - burning stove - blazing in the centre of the dining area - and nibbled on some homemade bread while we made our decisions. The menu featured a choice of traditional pub
classics, seasonal dishes and a bold list of specials. We began with the honey-roasted fig with prosciutto ham and pan-fried fishcake with citrus creme fraiche. Following this, we both indulged in slow-cooked pork belly with seared scallops and apple fritter, followed perfectly by a couple of warming Irish coffees.

The staff were extremely outgoing and helpful, and the service flowed effortlessly. I'll be returning soon, but next time with the whole family in tow; we can all enjoy the homely atmosphere and wholesome food, without squabbling over the washing up.

The Mill - Cambridge, UK

A cosy, traditional pub oozing character and charm, The Mill is situated in an extremely picturesque location in central Cambridge, overlooking the River Cam and its punting stations. This charming free house reopened in May 2012 following an extensive renovation.

Inside, you'll find delicious offerings of fresh food alongside a very impressive range of local cask beers which are served from eight hand-pull pumps.  Both the menu and the beers change regularly,
adding seasonal variety and interest. All the food - including the bread - is prepared fresh and cooked -on- site. Dishes range from the traditional pub classics such as beer battered haddock and chips to seasonal delights such as pigeon, black pudding, pear and parsnip salad;  potted Cornish shrimp and crab with Scottish smoked salmon; and seared lamb's liver with goat's cheese and onion tart.

Outside the pub is the beautiful Millpond and Laundress Green, alongside which runs the River Cam.
In the summer, you can take your food and drink outside to relax and enjoy this tranquil, quintessentially English setting in the sunshine.
In colder months, you can take advantage of the pleasant atmosphere and warm welcome inside.
Whatever the season, whatever the weather,The Mill is the perfect spot to meet with friends, enjoy a delicious meal or relax with a pint.
