The Place With Everything. Today's Ejea de los Caballeros is made up of two very different parts; the old town and the modern suburbs. The old town is located on top of a small hill, La Corona (The Crown) and it was there that Segia, as it was known to during Roman times or Seyia, as it was known under the Moors, was founded. Calle Cantamora, Los Carasoles and a handful of alleyways are the last remaining traces of Moorish occupation. The lower part of the old town is dominated by the church of San Salvador, a thirteenth century, Romanasque construction with a decorated facades. There is more to the church, however, than its magnificent exterior. Inside lies a real jewel, the fifteenth-century International Gothic main alterpiece by Blasco de Granen and Martin de Soria.
