Prawn Tempura

"Prawn Tempura Tempura is a Japanese term for any food dipped in an egg batter and deep-fried in oil. Fish, shellfish, and vegetable are commonly prepared in this way. Tempura is served with soy sauce dip and small bowls of grated radish, horseradish, and ginger. 1 pound prawns oil for frying 4 ounces sifted flour 1/2 tsp salt 1 beaten egg 6 fluid ounces milk. Shell prawns, leaving tail shell on. Slash the backs. Heat oil for deep frying. Mix flour and salt. Add egg and milk; beat together. Dip prawns in batter; add to hot oil(375F) . Fry 2 to 3 mins., until golden , turning once. Drain. Serves 6 to 8 as appetizer or 4 as a main dish, with spicy dip.
