 Geneva's Escalade includes demonstrations, tours, music and re-enactments all over the city.  The event marks the victory over the Duke of Savoy, who tried to capture the city in 1602.   A bonfire is erected on the Cour Saint-Pierre outside the cathedral, and the famous soup of Mere Royaume  (famous for stalling invaders by being dropped over them) along mulled wine, is available. With an amusing permanent exhibition and temporary shows, its programme has already been very tempting, but the Maison du Parc du Haut Jura is still innovating. A novelty this winter season is a system of audioguides in German and English, allowing those who don't understand French, young and old, to enjoy the main exhibition in the Maison du Haut-Jura. The earphones give all an opportunity to share the colour, the fun and the inter- activity of Haut Jura terre vivante, an attraction that has already proved very popular and can still be viewed this winter. Just like their Swiss or French cousins, foreigners can also visit the new temporary exhibition that the Maison du Parc has to offer. The Mercedes-CSl is developing path breaking innovations for its 22nd exhibition in the Hallenstadion in Zurich. The program was shortened to three days and twelve tests for the well-being of the horses, but it remains the indoor show jumping tournament with the most prize- money available of any show in the world. The show featuring the stars "Lorenzo" and "La Troupe Caracole" promises a feast for the eyes.
