Rambures Estate: a place for living and for military defence A jewel of military architecture : a 15 th century feudal fortress visited by Charles VII, Louis XI and Henry IV. 17 th and 18 centuries outbuildings and a chapel consecrated in 1827. A Jewel of military architecture from the end of the Middle Ages, it was built according to a highly original design. Very interesting Picardy furniture from the 15 th , 16 th and 17 th centuries. The Rambures name first appeared in 1058. Famous Rambures include David, Lord Rambures from Shakespeare's Henry V and French Grand Master of Crossbowmen, and Charles, the so-called "Brave Rambures " who saved the life of Henry IV in 1590.
