For more than 400 years, the wood bridge of Bad sackingen unites the two borders of the Rhine.  With its length of exactly 2oo m  it is Europes longest roofed wood bridge.   This still existing construction was built between 1785 and 1803 by th famous builder Blasius Baldischwieler from Laufenburg.  Due to the different sunsoil conditions the bridge axis is slightly angled towards the Swiss  bank Since the construction of the new Fridolin bridge 1n 1979, walkers and cyclists may comfortaably cross the bridge and enjoy its splendid panorama.  Statues of the patron saints Franz Xaver and Johannes Nepomuk, are put in both bridgeoriels on the left side.  On the right side youwill find interesting bridge doctumentation.   On the Swiss bridge head, the neighbouring community Stein has set up a set up a historical schonau cross.  The flood of 1999 almost destroyed the wood bridge, but fortunately it was saved just in time. Bruchsal Palace is the only baroque palace of its kind on the Upper Rhine. It is especially famous for its impressive staircase created by architect Balthasar Neumann. With its renowned staircase and stunning Banquet halls.   Bruchsal Palace invites guests to experience the splendor of artful baroque staging at its best.   The Palace's Court of Honor promises an almost overwhelming first impression of color, cheer, and charm; everything is richly painted and deorated with gilded stucco.  Shny, gold dragons adorn the rooftops, and even the gargoyles are a mirror of baroque fantasy.   The Prince Bishops of Speyer had high standards and made it a point to commission the leading artists of their time, like the famous architect Balthasar Neumann, whose employment resulted in no less than one of the most important baroque staircases in Southern Germany. Bruchsal Palace was rebuilt after its destruction in WW11 - a truly masterful artistic and artisanal feat of the last 60 years.
