This is a Shinto Shrine where the souls of Emperor Meiji and Empress Shoken are enshrined.  It was built in 1920.  The solemn forest was created by the plantation of about 100.000 trees donated from all over Japan at the time.   Meiji Jingu has museums and gardens.  You can enjoy Japanese culture and nature.
