The Monastery's stables are considered to be the oldest stud farm in Europe that is still working. The baroque stables were built between 1764 - 1767. Einsiedeln horses were highly appreciated all over Europe and Italy they were known as the <Cavalli della Madonna> (the Madonna's horses).
