Fifty gondoliers dressed as Epiphany witches take part in this bizarre festive race. Running along the Venice's
Grand canal from San Toma' to Rialto Bridge, the race is held in homage to La Befana, the old woman who, according to Italian tradition, hands presents to children on Epiphany Eve.
