Xkunvat - a Maltese Sweet
A special Maltese sweet - made of pastry smeared with honey and spiced with anisette.
250g plain flour
A knob of butter
2 egg yolks
1 small glass anisette
1 tablespoon sugar
In a bowl mix together the flour, sugar and margarine.
Add egg yolks and anisette.
Mix into a dough.
Leave to rest for about 1/2 an hour.
Roll pastry very thin, cut into long strips, curl into knots and deep fry in oil until golden
brown.
When done put on kitchen paper .
While still warm drizzle the honey and decorate with chocolate chips or "hundred and
thousands"
