Jules Verne - Amiens - France
Jules Verne married a woman from Amiens in 1857 and settled in Amiens definitively by 1871.
He was then 43 years of age and wrote most of his works that made him famous.
The house where he lived, renovated in 2005, holds many mementos of his life and his work.
He took an active part in Amiens public life and in 1889 he inaugurated the circus that now
bears his name.
He is buried in the Madeleine Cemetery.
