Rudolf - Eberle - Platz - Sackingen, Germany
The bronze stele of the sculptor Klaus Ringwald symbolises the completion of the urban regeneration
(1974 -1983) and gained recognition from all over the country. On three pages the most important themes of Sackingen history are illustrated the life of Saint Fridolin, the legend of the trumpeter of
Sackingen and the thermal culture which enjoys a long tradition.
The service and communication centre which is also a nice place to meet friends and relax, was built at the foot of the medieval city wall, in the middle of the river bed of the former Rhine branch that has been filled up during the 19th century. Embedded in the heart of appealing public and private green spots, the Rudolf-Eberle-Platz (place named after former Minister of economic Affairs Rudolf Eberle) is the important connecting urban link between the centre of the Old Town and the train station. The
historical Old Town and modern architecture merge into perfect harmony. It is the clinic St. Marienhaus in the north of Bad Sackingen where the thermal culture of the town has its origin.
