Fischergasse / Metzergasse - Germany

The narrow and winding Fischergasse (fisher lane) with its 16th / 17th century middle-class houses is
definitely one of the highlights of the lovingly renovated Old Town.
In former times the Rhine fishermen used to live there.   Their guild house has been renovated by a citizen's initiative and is used today as arts centre.

The prolongation of the Fischergasse is the Metzgergasse (butcher's lane).  Formerly, it was only here where it was allowed to sell meat and even today there is still a butchery on site.
