The lake area, and especially the Sebino area ( the western shore of Lake Iseo) ha a centuries- old tradition relating to growing vegetables and corn.  More and more space is being given to organic products and they are becoming a true element connoting the rural lakes of Bergano.

Vegetables in particular have always been grown on these particularly sunny thanks slopes to the presence of large semi-flat spaces and the help of artificial terracing systems.  The most common vegetables typical of the area, both in terms of the climate and for the territory, represent the historical product most cultivated by local farmers.

Types of crops.  Fruiting vegetables:  tomatoes, courgettes, aubergines, cucumbers, pumpkins and peppers.

Leafy vegetables:  lettuce, radicchio, rocket, valerian, cabbage, chard.  Stem vegetables, celery, Tuber vegetables, potato, carrot.  Bulb vegetables :  garlic, onion, shallot, leek.  Moreover, although in practice the cultivation of corn necessitates  wide meadows, several clues testify to the presence of corn crops since Roman times.
There are tests and illustrations that have allowed us to identify the prevailing agricultural production
forms, and this turned the interest of those working in sector towards the production of corn.  In fact, several local farms are rediscovering these crops by reintroducing native species that seemed to have disappeared.  A case in point is the current reintroduction od ears of corn native to the Sebino area.
