Artipelag - Sweden
Artipelag is a well known international venue for art, culture, design and good food - beautifully set on Varmdo' in the Stockholm Archipelago, just 20 km from the city centre.
The Interior
The lofty entrance hall has polished concrete floors, on-site moulded concrete walls and large glass
sections overlooking the sea and the forest. Nature is also present indoors - for instance a crag in the lower restaurant, and the toilets with their eye-catching bedrock back wall. The acoustics are notably outstanding throughout the premises.
The Art Gallery
Art and exhibitions are the core of Artipelag activities. The art gallery covers some 1,800 square metres
and our ambition is to host exciting new exhibitions of classical, modern and contemporary art, and to explore the borderland between fine art, crafts and design
The Restaurants
Artipelag's kitchen and bakery have already been acclaimed for their top quality. We have an a' la carte
restaurant and a caf'e / buffet/ restaurant - both with capacious outdoor areas and fabulous sea views.
In addition there are several large and small conference venues - including the four pavilions with sea- facing outdoor rooms.
The Shop and Artbox
On the entrance level you will find our shop - elegantly designed as a showroom for Artipelag's own
designer products. You will also find our Artbox, 1,200 sqm of floor space with a 12-metre ceiling height, excellent for exhibitions, conferences and banquets or concerts and film shoots.
The Broadwalk
The beautiful 800m seafront broadwalk runs between the parking area and the western entrance. On the way, you will pass the guest marina for visiting boats and the pier for the passenger boat to and from town. There are also several woodchip paths that run through the natural landscape of cliffs, forests and fields.
The Roof Terrace
The Milky Way - a bridge leading up to the roof - has wide, built-in shelves and a warm wall where you can lie down and lap the sun
The Roof Terrace itself has a fantastic view of the Archipelago and a small stone labyrinth for toddlers to play in.
