Visit the museum
Walk through the history of Sweden from pre-history to the present day. Experience fascinating stories and fantastic artefacts in the exhibitions. Prehistories, Vikings, the Gold Room, History of Sweden, Medieval Massacre, Medieval Art and the Textile Chamber. During the summer we have guided tours in English and there are Viking crafts, games and activities in the courtyard.
The Viking exhibition
Visit the Vikings - Legendary, misunderstood and feared. Discover stories of impressive women and men. Norse gods, Viking trading and raiding, and life in the town of Birks. We have the world's largest collection of finds from the Viking era.
The museum shop
Offers a varied range of jewellery, glass, textiles and books for all ages.
The Rosengarden restaurant
Serves wonderful lunches, Viking platters and mead, coffee and homemade cakes.
