Each of the towns in County Clare have their own unique characteristics.
- Ennis is the beating heart of Clare. The atmospheric, winding medieval streets of this historic market town reveal intriguing characters and stories that shaped its history and are brought to life by local walking tour companies. Ennis is home to some wonderful attractions such as the Ennis Ferry Friary, Ennis Cathedral and Clare Museum. Ennis is also known as the 'Boutique Capital of Ireland'
due to the variety of unique retail outlets on offer in the town.
- Shannon is Clare's youngest town and its international airport is the getaway to the West of Ireland
and the world's first custom free zone.
- Killaloe nestled on the banks of Lough Derg, is the ancient capital of Ireland from the time of Brian
Boru, and today a charming visitor base for exploring the River Shannon. Killaloe is a great
activity hub, offering visitors a range of activities from walking trails to cruising to angling.
- Scarriff remains an important market town which offers excellent facilities for the visitor interested in either active pursuit or leisurely sightseeing. The town is a noted angling centre, with wide appeal for both coarse and game anglers in the surrounding East Clare Lakelands comprised of over 40
lakes and rivers.
- Lisdoonvarna in the north of the county is a popular town, long famed for its Spa Wells as well as
its annual matchmaking festival.
- Bunratty Bunratty Bun Raite in Irish, means the 'bottom' or end of the 'Ratty' river. This river, alongside the castle, flows into the nearby Shannon estuary. When visiting Bunratty one should not
miss the opportunity to visit Bunratty Castle and Folk, Park which is open all year round. Traditional
Irish Nights take place regularly at the castle and are a great way to spend an evening. Great shopping, restaurants & bars are dotted throughout the village.
