Step by Step Copenhagen - Denmark

1 - From the airport of Kostrup , you can travel quickly, comfortably and cheaply by train to the city's
     central station

2 - The Radisson Blu Royal Hotel (radissonblu.com), which opened its doors in the early 1980's, is
a true hotel legend, with architecture and fixtures and fittings by Danish design star Arne                     Jacobsen. The two best luxury hotels nowadays are: the d' Angleterre (danglettere.com) and
                                                                                                    Nimb  (nimb.dk)

A really stylish hostel where everyone will feel at home, and not just backpackers is
                                    The Generator ( generatorhotels.com)

The SP34   (brochure-hotels.dk) in the area known as the Lotto Qtuarter, on the edge of the
city centre, offers what might be described on 'basic chic'

3 - The best and most authentic way to explore the city is to get on your bike.  Even in winter.
You'll first specially-designed stops throughout the city where you can rent a white ' City Bike'
     quickly and easily (bycyklen.dk)

4 - Long before Rend Redzepi & Co were wowing the world, Denmark was winning people over
with its smorrebrad.  These are more than simply filled sandwiches, smorrebrad is a culinary                tradition.
Two of the best places to try one are  ida Davidsen  (dadavidsen.dk)
The Store Kongensgade, and Schonnemann (restaurantschonnemann.dk)
At Housser Plads, one of the city's most richly traditional small restaurants.

5 - The Glyptotek (glyptoteket.dk) is home to one of the greatest collections of Ancient
Egyptian works of art outside Egypt .And they've got some very impressive Impressions to boot.

6 - Where Vienna has the Prater, Copenhagen has the Tivoli (tivoli.dk). The attractions may not be
spectacular or state-of-the-art, but they're hugely entertaining in a nostalgic way.

7.  If you've got time for a day -trip, you can choose between Malmo'  and Aarhus, Malmo' is on the        other side of the Oresund, the strait separating Denmark and Sweden, and particulary up-and-
coming and popular at present.  Aarhus, meanwhile - along with the Cypriot town of Pafos -
is one of two European Cultural Capitals this year.  It can be reached in three hours by train, and
will be offering a wide - ranging cultural progeamme in 2017.  If you're interested in finding
out what that might include, check out    aarhus2017.dk
