In Discovery of the Contemporary Artists of Bergamo Through Their Works
- Francesco Coter : An internationally famous painter, son of the famous sculptor Costante Coter. His studio is still found in the prestigious Palazzo Terzi, behind the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore.
- Stefano Caglioni: Eccentric, unconventional Bergamaask painter, Bergamo remembers him for his
Flamboyance and for his much appreciated paintings. Several galleries in Citta' Alta display his works.
- Elia Ajolfi: Ajolfi particapted in the life od the city through the diocese of Bergamo and the
Accademia Carrara. He made funeral monuments and sculptures for buildings, squares and gardens
Many of his works are in Bergamask churches. Examples of these are: the altars of the votive temple of Santa Lucia. and the parish churches of Sant'Andrea and Sant'Anna in Upper
Bergamo and the bronze peacock in Piazza Dante.
- Trento Longaretti: He was born in Treviglio in 1916. He was not only involved in painting
and graphics, but also in mosaic and stained glass work. He exhibited both in Italy and abroad (London, New York,Paris, Buenos Aires, Toronto, Ottowa, Amsterdam, Munich and Stockholm). His works are kept in the Vatican, the Cathedral and in the Basilica of Sant'Ambrogio in Milan, the Cathedral of Novara, the Museum of Modern Art of Basle, the Gallery of Modern Art and Permanant Collection of Milan and, of course, the Accademia Carrera of Bergamo. Other works
by Longaretti can be found inside Palazzo Creberg, and the Votive Temple and parish church of
Santa Grata.
- Craftsmen Of Citta' Alta: The artisan traditions of Citta' Alta have their origins in times gone by.
Traces of these crafts still remain today, in the old glass , upholstery, carpentry and goldsmiths'
workshops in the town.
