Cycling Along The Po From Racconigi To Crescentino - Torino, Italy
The main route can be covered in four convenient one-day stages of about 30 km each, starting and finishing at a railway station. You can choose to make one these day trips or tour of several days, crossing Piedomente from Cuneo to Vercelli.
Stage n. 1 : <The Po of the Lakes> from Racconigi to Monacalieri or vice versa (41.2km)
Stage n 2: <The Po of the Kings> from Monacalieri to Settimo Torinese or vice versa (22km)
Stage n 3: <The Po of the Hills 1>, from Settimo Torinese to Chivasso or vice versa (27km)
Stage n 4: <The Po of the Hills 2> from Chivasso to Crescentino or vice versa (32.4km)
For fans of cross country, the main itinerary offers long stretches on unpaved or steep roads, interesting for
mountain biking.
- Racconigi / Casalgrasso-Moncalieri: entirely on unpaved roads.
- San Mauro Torinese-Chivasso: entirely on unpaved roads.
- Chivasso-Crescentino: even though on asphalted roads, it is mainly in the hills, with a number of steep
ascents and descents that make it appealing for mountain biking.
Mountain Bike fans will also find plenty to enjoy on the secondary itineraries,
- Chivasso-Mazze'-Saluggia-Crescentino
- Torino Sassi-Superga (entirely on asphalt, but with steep inclines)
- Borgo Cornalese-Santena-Abbey of Casanova- Tetti Faule
