Solferino San Martino - Museums and Monuments - Italy
On the 24th June 1859, the French army, led by Napolean 111, fought in the Battle of Solferino against the
Austrian army, led by Franz Joseph.
The Red Cross Monument, located close to the Tower, was erected in 1959.
The Museum, built in 1931, contains numerous relics, pictures, uniforms and weapons relating to the battle.
The church and the memorial are open all year round.
