On the 24th June 1859, the Piedmontese army, under King Victor Emmanuel 11, clashed with the right wing of the Austrian army, led by General Von Benedek.
The Museum contains the relics, weapons and uniforms from the battle .
A 400-metre spiral ramp leads up to the terrace at the top of the Tower, which contains frescoes depicting the most important stages of the Risorgimento.
Inside the Ossuary Chapel are the skeletal remains of thousands of soldiers who fought in the Armies.
