Maredsous Abbey - Belgium
This Neo-Gothic style abbey was built to house a community of Benedictine monks in 1872.
Today it constitutes a beautiful architectural ensemble, admired by tourists and pilgrims alike.
The church, estate, gardens, library, cemetery, school and workshops (including a ceramics studio)
are open to the public.
The Visitor Centre houses a cafeteria, a souvenir shop, a bookshop and a gallery for temporary
exhibitions.
