National Park of Val D' Agri Lagonegrese E Appennino Lucano - Basilicata, Italy

The National Park of Val d'Agri is the youngest Lucanian park.  Established in 2006, it links the Pollino National park with that of Cilento, forming the largest protected area in Italy.  This National park attracts more visitors than any other, not only because of its natural beauty, but also due to a certain way of life that starts and ends in nature.  There are so many villages in the Agri Valley, each with its own
particular character, with its own network of alleyways and small and large churches., where it is impossible to resist the temptation of savouring the scents, sounds and silences of a rural life, the pace of which is influenced by the seasons and traditions.   The Park is paarticularly renowned for the wealth of produce it supplies, ranging from its celebrated wines to its vast array of typical foods, the apples, the peaches from Santarcangelo, the beans from Sarconi, the Canestrato di Moliterno cheese "casieddu;
a fresh cheese in green fern fronds, the cured ham from Marsico Valley and the olive oil extravirgin from Montemurro.
