Matthais Church - The Castle District - Budapest

Buda Castle is the historical palace complex of the Hungarian kings, first completed in 1265.  It is famous for its medieval, Baroque and Classical house, churches and public buildings. The area is linked to Clark Adam ter and the Chain Bridge by the Castle Hill Funicular.  The most visited site is
Szentharomsag ter, dominated by one of Budapest's most characteristic building:   the Matthais Church,
which is over 700 years old, it gives home to a great number of concerts, due to its excellent acoustic properties.  Trinity Square and boasts the Baroque style Former Town Hall, the Neo-Gothic former Ministry of Finance, St Stephen's statue and the neo Romanesque.   Fisherman's Bastion.   Here you
get a breathtaking panorama of the Danube with the Chain Bridge and the apposite Pest side.  The Castle District holds great historic attractions, interesting museums, charming, crooked streets following the shape of the hill, little cafes and restaurants.    The castle is part of the Budapest World Heritage Site
declared in 1987.
