Amphiteatrum - Budapest
The ancient area of Aquincum was situated on the north-Eastern borders of the Pannonia province within the Roman Empire. Ruins of a Domencian Convent of the city can be seen today here, it is believed that Marcus Aurelius may have written at least part of his book Meditations at Aquincum,
Orginally Aquincum served as a military base, having been part of the Roman border protection system. Ruins from the old Roman settlement can be seen in other parts of Budapest as well, notably
Contra- Aquincum and the Amphitheatre. Many historic artifacts from the city now appear in the Aquincum Museum. During the latest development the Painter's house (model of a roman house) the Mythological playground,the new Chronoscope, the Virtual Experience Room (a place where you can try PC games moved by kinect cameras) and the Town wall Lapidary was created. Nice clubs and restaurants are to be discovered in this part of the city.
