Tissot Heritage 1948 Chronograph
Tissot has always known how to offer great value, but this chronograph might be one of the brand's best yet.
On paper, and given prevailing tastes, the idea of a vintage-inspired automatic chronograph from a sorted brand for you for just ? pounds would seem to be one of the better value repositions on the market today, but do all the Tissot's tempting elements combine to make a great watch? The 39.5mm
size is nigh on perfect. whatever the size of your wrist thanks to its deliciously twisted lugs, and a breath of fresh air after wearing endless 42mm plus watches. The recessed chronograph sub registers are well spaced on its silver opaline dial, while applique' mirror finish hour market dots offer the design much needed depth. While Tissot opted for its heritage logo there's no denying it should have been on
a smaller scale, especially when sat beneath an applique' roman numeral 12 that is also on the large side. The data window? He didn't irk me but it will others. My only real criticism of this watch will most likely be seen as a positive by others, that hesitate crystal. Acrylic is lighter and cheaper than sapphire crystal but it scratches easily and lacks the solidity even mineral glass would offer. It may be
the more authentic choice for a vintage -look watch but I'd go fo sapphire every time.
