Runstenar Rune Stones Sigtuna, Sweden
No other town boasts as many stones in Sigtuna. In the town itself there are a dozen or so. Within the
municipality you can find more than 150 inscribed stones. Runestones were erected mainly during the 11th century and are often raised i memory of someone who once lived in the area. Some stones tell of voyages. Many end with a prayer, ' God help his soul ' The stones were usually placed where others could be found by bridges, along narrow passages and at entrances to homesteads.
