How to taste wine
Observe: hold your glass by the stem or base, and tip it on one side, examining the difference in colour
between the center and the edge of the wine.
Swirl: Swirl the wine in a circular motion. This increases the surface area of the wine, allowing it to
and release more aromas.
Smell: Smell the wine while lightly swirling it around. The swirl allows evaporating alcohol
vapours to carry every scent into your nose.
Taste: Take a sip of the wine but don't swallow just yet. Roll the wine around in your mouth,
exposing it to different parts of your tongue.
