Clare towns and villages Part 2 - Ireland



- 7:    Kilfenora a mere half an hour drive from Ennis is the gateway to the Burren Region.  A village
          steeped in a rich history and culture. Kilfenora is known in ancient manuscripts as the "City of
          the Crosses"

- 8:    Ennistymon has long been a building market town for the North Clare area and is renowned for
         its many attractive traditional shop fronts and neighbours the popular resort of Lahinch.

- 9:    Lahinch is one of Ireland's most popular resorts, attracting thousands of visitors each year, the
         town is world renowned for its surfing.

-10:   Loop Head  The peninsula on the west coast juts into the Atlantic Ocean like a gnarled finger                 pointing westward.  Three villages in the area are Kilbaha, Carrigaholt and Kikee.

-11:   Kilrush  a heritage town has the fine attractions; from its marina, the Vandeleur Walled Gardens
         to the Scattery Island Visitor Centre.

-12:  Milltown Malbay situated on the Atlantic Coastline, is famed for its annual Willie Clancy School
        Traditional Irish Music in July.

-13:  Doolin is renowned for its cosy pubs and their traditional music.  Here you will find stores filled
        with all kinds of traditional Irish crafts and clothing, the little town of Doolin has everything a
        traveller to Ireland might be looking for.

-14:  Kilkee is a well-known seaside resort that has something for everyone;  in dramatic cliff walks
        safe bathing and numerous activities.  The Diamond Rocks and Pollock Holes form natural
        swimming pools and are well worth a visit.

-15:  Ballyvaughan  village and small port on the southern shores of Galway Bay is a convenient
        centre for exploring the fascinating surrounding countryside. it also has a lot to offer visitor:
        sea fishing, pubs, restaurants, craft workshops
