Vienna Christmas World at the Christmas Market
The Vienna Christmas World opens on City Hall Square on 12 November.
As well as enjoying the traditional Christmas market with its 150 market stalls, this year, for the first
time, visitors will have the chance to ice-skate. Two large ice rinks and a variety of skating pathways through the romantically-lit City Hall Park encircle the Christmas market where you can buy
Christmas gifts, tree decorations, arts and crafts, culinary delicacies, confectionary and hot drinks .
There's also a chance to try your hand at curling.
The entrance to City Hall Square is decorated with a tall archway bearing candles, with a new candle
added every day through to 24 December. The trees in the surrounding City Hall Park will be sporting a new lighting design, their resplendent decorations festively illuminating the Ringstrasse, with wonderful installations in the park illustrating Christmas fairy tales for children. Young visitors
are invited to come to the City Hall for the chance to decorate gingerbread, make gifts, and write to Santa, all free of charge in People's Hall
From. 25 November onwards trumpeters on the towers will enchant visitors daily with wonderful
sounds.
On the four weekends in Advent they will be joined by traditional Advent singing. And all, those
wishing to see the Baby Jesus at the Vienna Christmas Maret in augmenterd reality are invited to download the app.
