Every year some 80 exhibitors from Austria and the neighbouring  countries create a unique Christmas atmosphere on the splendidly illuminated Parade court of Schonbrunn Palace.  The
exclusive product offer includes traditional handicrafts, nostalgic toys and lovingly designed Christmas decorations made of glass, wood, ceramics, paper and tin.  The diverse range is supplemented by the Schonbrun Edition; selected products in limited numbers.  The culinary menu offers plenty of punch and mulled wine variations as well as traditional delicacies such as "Bauerngrosti" " Kaiserschmarrm" sweet chestnuts or gingerbread,  From 27 December to 1 January
the New Year's Market additionally  offers tasteful articles for New Year's Eve and the New Year.

Daily children.s programme in Schonbrunn

The varied children's programme at the Christmas Market Schloli Schonbrunn will shorten the waiting time for the arrival at Christmas.

Christmas workshop

In the christmas workshop children can model sweet marizipan figures or decorate Christmas gingerbread under expert guidance.

Nikolaus

As  every year the Austrian Santa Claus will visit the Christmas Market and will light up the children's eyes with small candles.

Official opening & lighting of the Christmas tree

On 19 November at 4 p.m the 23rd Christmas Market will be officially opened and the Christmas
tree will be lit.  The tree has been donated for many years by Osterreichische Bunderforste AG. In
front of the stage the hand-carved manager by the Tyrolean woodcarver Franz Oberschneider tells
the Christmas story with more than 250 figures in different scenes.
