Oja - Landsort - Sweden



The island of Oja, or Landsort as it is called colloquially, is the most southern outpost of the Stockholm archipelago and one of the most beautiful in Nynashamn. The island's best known sight is the magnificent Landsort Lighthouse, which is Sweden's oldest lighthouse.  Oja has an impressive pilot history, strikingly beautiful nature and rich bird life.

A new and exciting destination is Battery Landsort, underground defences from the Cold war that are now a museum.  Guided tours Tuesday - Sunday (Pre-booking required).

Inquisitive visitors also like to see the beautiful chapel and historic places such as the Plague Churchyard and the magical coast labyrinth.

A sculpture exhibition is arranged every year. The artworks are exhibited around the island against .the
background of the open horizon, and visitors can walk around and see them whenever they want.

In the charming village of Storhamn, there is a warm archipelago atmosphere and Saltboden Kok &
Proviant with a shop and pub serves food and beverages. It's open daily until August and from, Friday -
Sunday during September.
Svedtiljas Restaurang on Landsort serves breakfast, lunch and dinner all year round. Pre-booking required.

Sjoprickens Keramikverkstad sells a fascinating array of glass, pottery, clothes and gifts.

The village offers accommodation at the youth hostel Landsorts Vandrarhem and the Bed & Breakfast in the
former Pilot lookout. Both are open all year round.

On the northern part of the island, Sjobloms Service has a guest harbour and cottages.  Seasonal opening. Cycle hire is also available here.

There is a daily boat to Oja from Ankarudden too Toto. You can take the bus there from Nynashamn station.
