Run by award-winning restaurants Richard and Heather Hurley and serving the finest French Cuisine, this fantastic pub and restaurant has featured in The Good Pub Guide fot two years in a row.  This year, they've earned a place in their top ten - best value pubs in the country, as well as a special recommendation in The Good Food Guide 2013.  Conveniently situated close to Cambridge and Newmarket and just a few minutes from A11, M11, and A14, The Carpenters attracts both local diners and those from further afield.

The bar serves regularly changing cask ales, including its very own range, brewed on the premises, while many of the carefully delected wines come from a family-run vineyard in France.  Dedicated
to using quality ingredients from local suppliers, Heather uses the 14 tomato varieties and the
selection of herbs she is currently growing in her greenhouse in her award- winning cuisine. The blackboard features specials influenced by both French and traditional English fare, while the seasonal a' la carte offers inspired French cuisine with some international influences.  The fillet steak
with spiced cocoa sauce is a popular choice, and the mushroom-and-brandy-sauce-stuffed chicken
breast is equally enjoyable, particularly when followed by the indulgent sable' Breton for dessert.  A top-notch roast is also served every Sunday - a delectable way to round off the weekend.
