Explore Nykoping
Nykoping is one of Sweden's oldest towns and was founded in 1187. There are
roughly 35,000 people living in central Nykoping and about 52,000 in the whole
municipality.
Stora Torget - Nykoping Market Square
Take a look around you. The yellow building is the Old Town Hall built in 1723.
Next to it is the modern Town hall from the 1960's . It's built in white Italian marble and represents the 20th -century and it's called Capitolium. The white
building situated on the opposite side is the county governor's house from the 1900th century. The oldest building at the square is the st Nicolai Church which
dates back to the 16th century.
Culturum
Behind the Nicolai church lies Culturum, a concert - and culture centre, also with the town library.

Take a walk along the river that runs through the town, a lively stretch where you'll
find culture, history and restaurants. keep an eye out for sculptures that pop up
here and there.
Alla Helgona kyrkan
Construction of the church began in the late 13th century. There was a major
rebuilding during Duke Karl's reign. When the church was restored in 1909, the
little steeple was added.
Bryggeriet (Old Brewery)
At the Brewery next to the Nykoping river you will find a collection of artists and
artisans. Painters, bookbinders, silversmiths, potters, musicians and furniture
restorers all gather under the same roof.
The Nordic Company (department store)
This villa was built up a as a showroom in 1906. NK in Stockholm had it's furniture production here during most of the 20th century.
This Villa is a symbol of quality craft work. Exhibitions, lunch and cafe all year.
Nykopingshus Castle
Nykoping castle is situated where the Nykoping River flows into the harbour.
Visit the King's Tower, see swords, daggers and other medieval weapons used
by knightss and soldiers. Explore the history. Free entrance.

Nykoping harbour
Autumn / winter. Visit the harbour in winter setting, walk out on the 1,5 kilometre long pontoon bridge.
