The Wine Routes Of Aragon - Spain
Oenological tourism is an aspect of tourism that has awoken a lot of interest over the last few years.
Travelling through the different wine producing areas, visiting everything that sounds and tastes of wine has become a perfect argument to taske a break and visit the world. Aragon (D.O.) or in other words, four tourist epicentrtes where this discipline can be practiced. Undoubtely, it is the ideal text to gradually discover the secrets of wine, sip by sip.
Apart from the wines covered by these four D.O.s, other wines are produced in Aragon, which are worthwhile enjoying, under the stamp of Vinos de la Tierra (Wines of the Land): Valle del Cinca, Bajo Aragon, Ribera del Gallego-Cinco, Villas and Ribera del Queiles.
Carinena - ,The oldest of the wine denominations in Aragon, and one of the oldest in Spain, it is currently being modernised with new projects combined with historical wineries, Taking
this diversity as the thread, the trip is completed with interesting gastronomic exponents,
an extensive architectonic heritage and natural spaces that warrant multiple visits.
Campo De Borja - There bare two standards that surround the wine in the D.O.: the Moncayo, the custodian and guardian of the vineyard, and the Monastery of Veruela, a place
where the wine producing tradition of the area began to be forged. Get to know
them and other tourist resources that surround the wine.
Calatayud - The Calatayud D.O. was created in the year 1989, in a privileged region, next to the
Jalon and Jiloca rivers. These lands have the latest harvest in Aragon due to the great
differences between the day and night temperatures, although it is this characteristic
which makes its wines very balanced with respect to acidity and alcohol.
Somontano - The Somontano D.O. has everything in its favour to cope with this new tourist aspect.
Many of the wineries that comprise this wine producing reference are very aware of
how important it is to make the people visiting its land faithful to them. And they do
this by showing them its whole universe.
