On The Trail Of Giacomo Manzu' - Bergamo, Italy

An itinerary through the city to discover some of the creations of the great sculptor Giacomo Manzu', who was born in Bergamo.

Monument to The Partisan

Donated by the master to the city of Bergamo in 1977, this monument is an excellent example of the sensitivity of the artist to the problems of his time and commemorates the dramatic nature of the Resistance.

Provincal Authority Building

The gardens of the Palazzo della provincia house some important sculptures, including one of the famous Cardinali by Manzu'

Don't miss a visit to the manzu' Collection, part of the permanentcollection of the GAMeC of Bergamo. It includes extraordinary sculptures, paintings, drawings and etchings.

The Wines of Valcalepio

"Terra Buona, terra dolce" (Good land, gentle land): this appears to be the origin of the name of
Valcalepio, which is famous for the production of the Doc wine of the same name, the fruit of a long wine-growing tradition.

Scanzorosciste

A place well known for the production of an important wine: Moscato di Scanzo, which has obtained the first and only Controlled and guaranteed Designation of Origin (D.O.C.G) of Bergamo.

Grumello Del Monte

The vineyards of Grumello extend as far as the eye can see on gentle rolling hills.  Of particular
interest is the Castle, which also produces excellent quality wines
