H & M - Stockholm, Sweden

One of Sweden's most successful fashion brands, known today for its trend - led young fashions and sell -out designer collaborations, H&M's history dates back further than you may think.  The clothing company opened in 1947 with a womenswear store in the town of Vasteras, just outside of Stockholm. Originally called Hennes, the company's name was changed to Hennes & Mauritz in1968, when the hunting and fishing equipment store Mauritz  Widforss was acquired; clothing lines for men and children were introduced in the same year.  In 1974 the brand was listed on the Stockholm stock exchange and was abbreviated  to H&M, as we know it today.  Since then, the company has grown into a global brand with over 3,500 stores delivering the hottest fashion trends around the world.
