Torre Canavese - Village of Art
The Village: Along the road that links Aglie' and Baldissero, after passing the village of Bairo, Torre
Canavese appears on the right like a painted picture. You will catch glimpses of the
landscape framing the soft side of a hill and the rural residential village. Going into town
the first unusual thing you will notice is that the road suddenly stops, and the walls of
the houses are covered with brushstrokes of artists.
The Municipal Art Gallery: In 2003, Michael Gorbachev opened the Art\Gallery of Torre Canavese
dedicated to his wife Raissa Gorbacheva.
The Viassa: The Viassa , one of the most beautiful pedestrian streets of the village, hosts the most
characters from Federico Fellini's movies.
Antiques Gallery "Marco Datrino": The Datrino have been antiques dealers for three generations
In 1968 they purchased the Castle of Torre Canavese (Turin)
from Count Balbo Vinadi. The turning point in the international
arena began in 1990, with the relationships with the former
Soviet Union.
The exhibitions, which were in collaboration with the
Russian Ministry of Culture were both a great success. In 1993
there was "Treasures from the Kremlin" and in 1994 "Gems and
Diamonds"
Ceramic Garden: "The tree of the righteous" dedicated to Giorgio Perlasca, who saved thousands
of Jews from deportation at his own personal risk.
