St. Gallen embroidery:   In the early 20th century, St. Gallen embroideries were well- known and in great
demand all over the world.  In 1910, Switzerland exported approximately 89,000 quintals of embroideries
worth over 200 million francs.
Embroidery was Switzerland's biggest export industry.
