Orchestra Collegium Ducale
This orchestra b rings together in one group musicians from the best orchestras of the Veneto. The
ensemble is prepared to execute a repertoire ranging from the baroque to Twentieth century music. Well-
known soloists contribute both to the whole of the performance and as featured virtuous. It is actively
involved in the research and study of technique, with the aim of offering to the public a performance of
pieces based on the interpretative spirit of the period they date from. the orchestra has been performing in
Venice 1993 with most concert season is referred to by the title: "Venice and Europe: music beyond history"
The Prisons
The prisons, linked to the Doge's Palace by the bridge of Sighs is the opera of the architect Antonio da Ponte; the building was destined to substitute partially the cells of Doge's Palace and hosted the night crimes tribunal. A different experience for visitors in the place where Casanova was imprisoned and run-away. Since 1922 The Prisons of Doge's Palace are the headquarters of the prestigious " Artistic Circle" of Venice by the will of the Prince Umberto of Savoia and some of the important musicians played there
The Church of Santa Maria Formosa.
The Church of Santa Maria Formosa was, following the tradition, one of the first eight churches that were built in the lagoon. It was established by the Saint Bishop Magno, who saw the Virgin (Formosa),
and was asked to build a temple where he would see a white cloud. it is the first church in Venice
entirely built following the Renaissance Ideals in the second part of the 15th century. During the 18th century Baldasarre Gialuppi (1706 -85) called "Il Barancello" was organ player in the church of Santa Maria Formosa.
