The Gurten, a walkers' paradise - Switzerland
.1.Gurten Roundtrip: This easy walk across the meadows and along the edge of the forest is signposted "Grosser Rundweg". Superb views of the city of Berne, meadows, a play area ,barbecue areas and a lookout tower are among the highlights you will find en route.
2.Summer breeze: The ideal route for hot summer days, since much of it is through the forest. the trail follows the same route as the Gurten Roundtrip at first, but at Studholz branches off to the south, sloping gently down to Blinzere and on to Spiegel.
3. Gurten Tour: A rather more demanding hike all round the Gurten. The descent at the start through the
Gruenebodewald is a little tricky in wet weather (slippery sandstone) From Jennershus, the trail leads into idyllic Koniztal and from via Kehsatz to Wabern.
4. Gurten Classic: Hike through the valley to Wabern - the classic descent from the Gurten. The route leads across meadows and through forests and promises panoramic views of Wabern from just above Gurtendorf.
5.Winter Magic: The trail not be ploughed in winter, but is much frequented and hence easy to find. The route leads from Gurtendorf and from Breitagerte and from there via Rossacher to Wabern.
6. Alpine Views: A pleasant walk down the valley on the east side of the Gurten as far as Kehsatyz with superb views of the foothills and Alps of the Bernese Oberland.
